Work Programme

Well that's me unemployed a year. Am expecting a letter from Ingeus to go and see them. Can anyone tell me what to expect on the Work Programme?
Do I still see my Work Coach at the job centre or do I just sign on at my usual time?
Thank you very much.

Do not expect anything at all.
I was told "we can not help you as we do not have that experience". I went there once a month for 2 years and that was it. Spent probably 10 mins in there at most. It was like "hi how are you", "anything come up". My reply "I am ok" and "no, nothing".
Them "see you in 4 weeks" - me "bye"!
A total waste of time and you can not complain to the Job Centre as the WP is nothing to do with them. I complained to the DWP chief and was told "talk to your provider". It wasn't even worth the breath.
Yes you continue to sign as normally and do whatever the WP tell you.0 -
As above, expect nothing. At least, nothing helpful.
They may want to rewrite your CV or cover letter, but double check it if they do (they're not all great at English).
They may want to send you on one of their "courses" (i.e. hours trapped in one of their spare rooms being told the obvious).
Don't tell them any details when you get a job. They'll take all the credit for it and get a lot of money.
There have also been those who have lost jobs because Ingeus like to stick their noses in and contact employers.
Some advisors are better than others. No doubt, there are some that really do want to help.
I had a couple who seemed nice enough, although they did nothing to help me. I also had one who did what they could to try and get me sanctioned and they made everything worse.
The work programme is two years but if you get a job just ignore them if they do try and contact you.
They will also try and make you sign some papers when you first go. You do not have to sign it all, but some advisors can be funny with you if you don't.
You will still sign on at the job centre but your sign on will be much quicker.0 -

Mine was still the same no quicker0 -
I find when I sign on at my usual time, say my Advisor is off ill or whatever then it is much quicker.0

My signing was a lot quicker when I was on the work program.
"Are you still attending the work program" yes "sign here and we will see you in a fortnight. They didn't even bother to check my jobsearch.0 -

That's pretty much how it was for me too.
I had to sign on between a set time on my sign in day. Just went to the main desk, signed a piece of paper and left. No one checked anything and there was no set appointment time to see an advisor.0 -

I've already had a local agency write my CV and I have been getting interviews. So basically it is a waste of time on the Work Programme?0

Yes. It's a waste of time for everyone.0 -

The WP didn't even do anything as stated. Said CV was very professional and cover letter good.
Then a few months ago went on a "job searching" 6 week course which was go to an office spend 2 hours applying for work and then go home. Next week repeat and so on. Total waste of time as I do that here all day. This place too showed my CV to the centre manager and they said there was nothing they could advise!0
