Think you were robbed, DNO approval cost ne nowt, the installer sent and received a couple of emails and that was it(I know cos he copied me into them). Simples!!
I'm being too lazy to look up the rules, but something has changed. I think G83/1 has gone, and all are now G83/2 .... something like that.
And exceeding 3.68kW comes under G59 (I was warned about this when I did mine under G83/2 - "we let you off this time, but really you should have ......") for which there's a small charge.
Go really big, (50kW I think) and they have to observe the install electrics too. Guess what, you have to pay them to watch!
