I am in Ballycastle as we speak. Can't think of a Chinese restaurant....only takeaways.
However there is a gorgeous new restaurant opened in the main street of Ballycastle. If you find the central bar (and you should its in the middle of the main shopping street) they have opened a brand new purpose built restaurant upstairs. The food is absolutely beautiful and it is very reasonable priced. I have tried most of the eateries here and it is probably the best. Another nice one is the new one opened right on the harbour. Again I can't remember its name (I'm not much help!) but it is right on the seafront opposite mauds ice cream. You can't miss it. Hope that helps.
I know the town quite well. feel free to email me if you want to know anything else.0 -
would i need to book either of these restaurants especially on the friday night. Only two of us tho.....?
anyone one else know the names so i can ring and check .0 -
Well, checked out "The Central Wine Bar" as recommended on here. It was gorgeous. really nice restaurant inside and lovely food. Huge wine glasses. That was my only gripe - i got a very small glass of wine for £3.25 compared to everyone else' glass of wine but i should have spoken up.
Anyway went downstairs after for a glass of wine in the bar and the guy in the bar takes us out to show us the beer garden out the back. Turns out he is the owner ( think he said his name was Phil )
Really friendly in that wee part of Norn Iron.........
While heading back to our car we popped into the Wine Flair and the girl in there was giving out samples of a new cider ( red in colour )
Really Nice....
so guess that made up for the wine ...lol
Three Cheers for Ballycastle0 -
I'm glad you had such a nice time.
I have met Phil a few times, it is amazing the difference he and his wife have made to The Central.
When we used to go about 5-6 years ago it was a small and cramped (but really fun) bar. They extended it, renovated it, really upped the quality of their entertainment and opened a restaurant. I quite like it, my husbands parents live in BC, so when we are down that way it would definitely be my watering hole of choice.
Glad to be of service!0
