Thread started late last night - that's not fair!:rotfl: (I know I'm normally here late in the night, but...)

So, I'll move the M list over later - you'll have to make do with memorable post 325!

A few items off in M - such as Young's Gastros going back up to £3.99. I thought I'd have a chuckle over this next one, even though it is annoying: Birds Eye 42 Dippers now at everyday low price £3.98:eek:. These have gone down to £2.92 elsewhere and were £3 in M. They go up to about £4.25 but, really, £3.98 is about one of the highest prices they go to. For them to be claiming "everyday low price" on them, especially as they have put the price up (from last time's £3 offer price) is just plain annoying. They also have the Hartley's tablet jellies apparently on 54p and that's their everyday "low" price as well! It's about the highest price at which they are available! They are regularly on 3 for £1, so 33 odd p each, and I've seen RTCs elsewhere at 25p. To then call 54p "low" - :mad::mad:...

I've googled everyday low price - or, rather, they call it "EDLP" - and I've concluded that EDLP is purely a marketing proposition, in which they put products at certain prices at which they call "low" and they then hope the "proposition" isn't undermined by consumers thinking the prices are better elsewhere from "high-low" retailers (or even from themselves when operating a "high-low" model in tandem on other items, therefore a hybrid retailer).

So, I've shot this purely marketing exercise to pieces: MORRISONS EVERYDAY LOW PRICES ARE GENERALLY VERY HIGH, ARE HIGHER THAN THEIR OWN PREVIOUS CHEAPER OFFER PRICES AND LOWER PRICES THAN THE "EVERYDAY" ONES MAY BE ABLE TO BE FOUND ELSEWHERE. And that is my price perception:p. Morrisons very expensive store on (I'd say most) items that they say are on "everyday low price" that are, IMO, on high prices.

M's pork or Irish thick pork sausages (8 pack - 454g) are on 79p. Standard range ones as I don't go much for "value" sausages. That is best price I've seen on the non-value range ones! I suspect, once this offer ends, they'll go back to their normal everyday [Strike]low[/Strike] high price of £1.19:rotfl:. Too high for me:laugh:, my guide has been £1 - last offer was 2 for £2 - but 79p is best I've seen! Not on just yet of course on the APG, if it ever gets to that system. I don't think I see them these days at any higher price than the everyday "low" price of £1.19... Anyway, pudding being over-egged at this point:rotfl:.

There is another side though. One of the mushrooms packs, as you know, is on 39p in M and that is an "everyday low price". So, maybe that one is one of the few rare ones that are actually are a bit lower and good. This did not compare on the APG from what people bought in A, but hang fire a little in case we've been getting the "wrong" ones in A and I'll try and see if it's a different pack that we should be getting.

The Pork Shoulder steaks are £1.97/kg, which is the lowest price I've seen, and now marked as everyday low price on those.

Finally, start avoiding the SP Tortillas vs M. They have been consistently 46p up to last Wednesday at least (and I suspect probably up until yesterday). However, they are now "Reduced" to clear 50p and crossed out 70p. I suspect they meant to put the standard range, that are according to the SELs still on 70p, onto 50p but instead they've written "M Savers" on the offer label in error. Whatever the case, the Savers version, that were regularly 46p, have now gone up in price to 50p, and yes that "Reduced" to clear label does seem to have shifted quite a few of those in my first store as shelving had a bit of empty space around them there!

It's not all Ms that are claiming "Reduced" though - my other M store, that had 46p price last Wednesday on them, has now simply changed that to 50p. So, whatever the case, avoid these "Savers" version that appear to have been reduced to a higher price. Seems like they are in a parallel universe where everything means the opposite of what it is:rotfl:!

Chips Ahoy could be good - though I've had them under watch as hoping still 40p in A x2 and then 2 for £2 vs 75p each at W!
But, as usual, never got round to finding out if they are still 40p in A - I suspect not, it seems - as I couldn't see much else to go with them (vs W, at best 75p price).

I'll have a look later - but will probably be way late - may be price changeover day in W so will have a look for Avs W, but will be late due to other things to sort in the meantime!

Got my disabled railcard through today. I didn t realise that if you owned a hearing aid you would be entitled to a disabled persons railcard until I read about them when Tesco were offering railcards for £5 last week
