Is the debt solely in your wife's name? Does she have any other debts in either single or joint names?

Webuyanycar are known to give you a better valuation for your car than the main dealer

Are they? By whom? They don't even claim that in their own advertising.

Due to a mental illness, my wife has been forced to leave her job and will shortly be unable to pay for the PCP on her BMW that she purchased for the job.

Assuming the car is only 4 months old as quoted then has she actually left her job already or is she signed off sick/still on notice ?

Given the defecit/loss you'll face on the car is there another income alternative for her in order to keep it/balance the loss

I was in a similar position and ended up off for 8 months during which time my employer maintained sick pay and all benefits (i.e. car allowance, healthcare, pension etc) but it made me realise that I should have planned better for the lease car

Webuyanycar are known to give you less than their valuation when you turn up with the vehicle and they find the car has actually been used.

My husband has sold 2 cars to them, and never had a problem, as has someone in my work. If you are upfront with the condition of the car (scratches etc) then you shouldn't have a problem IME.
