I did a carboot a few weeks ago with H&B. sold them any 6 for £5, sold well. At the end to get rid of the dregs I put up notice " last 1/2 hour. Was 6 for £5, now 8 for £5." Was almost trampled! Made a couple of hundred.
Hope this helps.
P.S. keep your nerve and don't drop price too soon, car boots can be slow starters. Also be aware of traders who will try to fleece you by telling you that it won't sell, but they will take them off your hands for a ridiculous amount.0 -
The main reason you cant find these "vouchers" is that they're actually "coupons".
I actually think they resent being misnamed and actually hide from you.
I managed to convert a few of you ladies some months agao to the correct terminology and you were quite successful in your finds,
I picked up 278 of these coupon leaflets in one swoop 3 weeks ago(see previous posts).......sent quite a few out to coupon users etc.
Patty and Welshy and others have gone back to looking for vouchers and find very little.........and you cant say i didnt warn you.
The thread names were even changed to reflect the importance of this.
No where on these little bits of valuable paper does it mention the word "voucher"...so be warned.....call them vouchers....and you'll get none.........call then coupons and you may find you suddenly have some.
Woke up in a funny mood this morning, can't put my finger on what caused it.............yet,
You're right. I did.
I had to look back mind to see where
They're still till SPITS in our house though........

This is the biggest h+b that I have tried and was very chuffed. Don't worry though as I have learnt from the experts on here and PTS and did not use my clubcard and paid with cash.

Can an expert please enlighten me and explain why its better to pay in cash and miss out on clubcard points?0 -
Templar your obviously a newbie so welcome to the site. Most of the answers you seek can be found in the various H&B threads. I'm a little paranoid and when I see a newbie wanting a graphic and detailed account of how we do things I start to get suspicious. Hopefully I'm completely wrong and you like the rest of us are just looking for a bargain. So if you don't work for Mr T have a nice day...........if you do!!!!!!!!!!!!0

The previous H&B thread is 107 pages and the thread before that is 83 pages - I am keen to save money & maximise my Clubcard points but 200 pages is a lot to read!
Can someone less suspicious please be a little more helpful?
Thanks.0 -

OK Templar you've passed initiation welcome aboard. People don't use their clubcard because they see this or a credit card as a tracking device used by Mr T. Doesn't really bother me as I think they have more to worry about than me firing across the occasional voucher.

They choose to accept the vouchers regardless of whether or not the product is purchased? Seems odd to me, but if I can legitimately save money then I would be a fool not to!
Maybe I will get around to reading those 200 H&B pages later.0 -
In a nutshell Templar.
Tescos will generally accept any voucher as they can claim the money back.
Internet vouchers are refused more than magazine type vouchers.
The book token cannot be redeemed by Tesco (we think) so they will be knocked back on occasion.
Amount of vouchers accepted against shop is completely random and depends not only on the store but also on the till person.
Tescos H&B and Quit Pack are good because in most case you can give multiple vouchers thus enablin virtually free product.
Tescos vouchers for specified items can only be used for the aforementioned item otherwise they will not scan.
Hope this sets you on your way.
