I bought John Frieda at 3 for 2 @ £4.46 each = £13.38 - minus the offer - 4.46 = £8.92 plus I bought dove haircare @ 2 for £2.00 and a value shower gel @ 13p = so £11.05 to pay and I used a 1 x £2.50 HB, a £2.50 SB and 2 x £1.25 quit vouchers, I also used a 70p palmolive shower gel voucher meaning total voucher discounts of = £8.20 off so only £2.85 to pay.
As for the 50 pointers, the Sa would only accept one voucher on the whole transaction (boo hiss) and despite my charm and querying with the supervisor I was only allowed to use only 50 pointer. I did however use a Daily mail £4.50 voucher and some others total voucher savings today was an impressive = £35 / £27 / £21 on 3 shops = £89 I saved today !
I also gained 1,972 points which is £78ish towards my holiday ! and I had 2 till spits 75 points for weetabix crunchy and 250 points on my next tesco direct shop.
In 2 of the 3 stores I visited today they were giving away daily elements samples but no mocs - in total I got 4 of these freebies.
At the tortilla wrap aisle, I had a nice chat to an off duty tesco Sa who was just about to rush off to get her copies of the Daily Mail - she uses them too ! and I talked to a coupon virgin on how to get an Uncle Bens wrap kit for alot less (the voucher in today's Star is for £2.99 but the Indian one is actually £1.99 at the mo so it's another £1 off your other shopping).
I also managed to get 2 goodie bags today so the 4 hours spent tescoing today was definitely worth it !
Welshy x
How did you manage to get that many points? And which goodie bags?
I had similar success with 2 very happy scanners, I love weekend boys!!!Newbie Comper
Wins so far-crunchie bar, Friends DVD set,Clynol shampoo + cond, LUSH Christmas set0 -
Welshy...i'm finding that with one of the stores i use.
They'll take any 1 of each type in MOC's........you could pay for the whole of your shopping this way, as long as each voucher is individual...but only 1 of the 50 ponters. Grrrr.......
Am finding other stores, thoughbetter with point but not so good with coupons.

Welshy you are an inspiration love :T
Well my local tescos has always been a bit funny at taking vouchers, so I kept it low key for this time.
I started by handing over a load of wombled recipts at CS, which isnt a bad start. Then went to the H&B section where they- for once- had the H&B voucherswooo
So then I got
2x palmolive handwash 1.54x 2 = 3.08
Lynx shower gel for OH 1.82 x2 = 3.64
Macleans whitenings toothpaste 2.45 each =4.90
colgate =72p
2 tescos toothbrushes =1.29
kids toothpaste 12p x2 = 24
imperial leather S gel for me = 1.00
total 14.87
then minus the bogofs ( palmolive, lynx, whitening mcleans) = 9.06
I used
2x 50p off whitening mccleans ( bzzagent)
2.00 off ( quit smoking)
1.25 ( smoking)
2.50 (health & beauty)
TOTAL - 2.31 plus 50 extra points.
Very impressed with that little haul. Maybe I need an extension now welshyI expect I could have pushed it a bit further but didnt want to take the pi55, they are not the most generous with voucher acceptance round my way :money:
many thanks to all, think Ive finally got the hang of it!:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...

WELSH-DRAGON wrote: »Thank you lynzpower and well done on your voucher saving :T however, I think without your constant updates on the clear £1k in 2 months challenge I would not have been so successful  your advice and motivation has been a great help.

Which reminds me.... havent done much moneysaving for that today
Out of interest Welshy, do you have a rule of thumb how "much" points are worth ( ie if I have a 50pt voucher - whats it WORTH)
we have been using the vouchers off shopping while the belts have been tightened. We toyed with the idea of going ot a theme park, but didnt bother. We only spend 25-30 a week there, and now its getting more like I only spend about 50-60 per month, as i do a lidl shop and a sainsburys as well. Ive got 850 points this month, will it take me nigh on forever to get a hoilday for 2? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Neosi, I was wondering if it might be an idea to change the thread title slightly to ask that newbies read the first post a la the pigsback thread. I dont want to sound rude but this (and other) questions that are answered in the first post took up loads of posts in the last thread, then double that when someone had to say, 'please read the first post...'
If nobody agrees, then dont worry, just an idea...
Thanks for the new thread by the way, you do a great job!!Reclaiming for family and friends. Won 4/13 so farHSBC CC - £263.25, Halifax CC - £179.45, HFC PPI - £589.00, HSBC PPI - £498.86, Lloyds PPI 1 - £4000 -
I finally managed to get a few H&B sheets from a swap on PTS... was so excited when the postie came!
Did 2 shops of:
3-4-2 John Frieda
2 x Dove
2 x Palmolive
my wonderful happy scanner was in and scanned all my coupons... first shop £15 off plus 758 points.... 2nd shop £26 off using a temp cc. Just wish he worked more often as he only does weds nights and saturdays. Anything that beeps he just manually overides with no probs. I have to do a bit of flirting, even though he's 12 years younger than me!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Used up all my H&B now and am eagerly awaiting the ones from hariettxx (Thanks Harrietxx).
Welshy.... you have inspired me to earn more points... I was happy this quarter with 6500 points but am going to aim higher now!0 -
Well not such a good shop tonight....... i bought jf 342 and thought the 250 off haircare would work but it didnt  also the 250 H&B did not work:mad: I thought they would as total befor 342 was over £10.I also bought 3 of the kids 10p berry toothpaste and tried using the 40p colgate which also didnt work:mad:
Any thoughts as to why this did not work would be appreciated:o0 -
WELSH-DRAGON wrote: »Hiya the fizz - were any vouchers accepted ? sometimes if a button is not pressed for the total they will not scan. It has happened to me b4 and I've asked them to total it and they then scan

Hey Welshy,
well i has 5 50 pointers accepted but no MOC? she scanned everyhting because i watched her and the till did not accept??0 -
The Fizz, maybe Welshys right then because im sure extra points vouchers work slightly differently in that they can be scanned at any time, is that right anyone?Reclaiming for family and friends.
