LED R7 retrofit bulbs

I have two uplighters which both use R7 bulbs. The so-called 'low energy' versions of these make precious little difference to the amount of electricity they use, and seem to need frequent replacement, so I've been looking for an LED version.

I found this: http://cpc.farnell.com/eterna/r7led9w/9w-led-118mm-r7s-retrofit-lamp/dp/LP05818?ost=r7+led+lamp which although expensive to buy, will - I hope - earn its keep!

The info says it is not suitable for use with dimmers. Both my uplighters have those little buttons which act as both dimmers and on/off switchers. I'd be really grateful if anyone could give me any advice on what would happen if I used the above bulb in my lighters and (a) switched them on and off at the wall; or (b) used the 'little button' switch purely as an on/off switch; and (c) what would happen if I inadvertently dimmed them....?

Many thanks for any informed advice available. If anyone knows of a cheaper version of the same thing, that too would be great.
