No spend day today - although I was sooo tempted by the chip shop on the way home from work tonight. I resisted temptation and cooked tea instead.
I have a freezer full of food so could do with rummaging through and writing a list. Then I can get some meals planned for next week.0 -
Decided on a vegetable bake for tea tonight. Got lots of fresh veg in fridge that need using up and found a bag of breadcrumbs in freezer I could put on top with grated cheese and herbs.0

I have been checking my mortgage balance online and apart from a decrease when the payment went out its not changed so I guess it's a monthly interest adjustment. Of the £1046 monthly payment it has decreased by £460.26
Current mortgage £130,873.76
Disheartening to see so much of the amount paying off interest.0 -
Put a little in the OP account today. Have updated total.0

Not a cheap weekend, but lovely meal out with the family for Mother's Day.
Don't think I am going to be able to add anymore to the overpay account this month. Going to have a tough time keeping enough in the current account to cover the credit card at the end of the month.
Anyone else get to the middle if the month and then start looking forward to next payday?0 -
Hello Zootie
Sure I have that feeling. We have overspent this month too but had a lovely meal out for Mother's Day and enjoyed ourselves.
Get paid on Friday and am counting down the days.
I have been sprucing up the ensuite over the last few days - just a fresh coat of paint on the walls and the woodwork. Only cost me the price of the wall paint so I'm happy. Just the door to do now and have that planned for today.
Plan on starting the bathroom on Friday but that needs new flooring too. Can't wait to tear up the carpet! Same paint as in the ensuite so shouldn't be an expensive job but will make such a difference.
Have a great day!

A coat of paint really freshens the place up. I love the sense of achievement when you manage to get a job done like that Flower. I have been at work all day and have just raided the freezer for tea. I'm determined to get things used up before I restock.0

I have finally got round to taking each drawer out and writing down exactly what we have left in there to use up too. Freezing cold hands now!0

Eating well on freezer food this week. MIL dropped by with a half price chicken from M&S yesterday she thought we would like as it was a bargain so £2.50 will go a long way there. Instead of going out and looking round the shops in town on my breaks last week I did a quick wizz past the reduced section in the supermarket (big bag of stir fry veg one night last week for 19p) and then went for a walk in the fresh air. Helped clear my mind for next session at work as well.
My luxury since I started my new job with more hours has been a cleaner for a couple of hours a week. She could not make it this week so I set the alarm yesterday and got up and did 2 hours housework while the children were just getting up and lazing In front of the TV. Felt very satisfying to know I had "earned" the £15 to go in the OP account.
Total now stands at £130 towards the £500 I need to make an overpayment. Small steps.0 -
Sorted DS2s wardrobe out last weekend and have washed and ironed a huge pile of clothes that no longer fit him. DH just registered for 100 free listings on eBay so all character T shirts will go on there and rest will be listed on our local Facebook selling page. Thats my aim today.0
