EON FIT Application Process
Options

Forms all completed and will be sent off today for the above . The Application form states to process will take up to 8 weeks .
What's your experience with the time it takes ?
What happens next ? Presume they send you some sort of confirmation and then what next ? Do they link the FIT into my EON Gas/Electric Tariff meter reading account or is there a separate one ?
Do the readings occur at the same time as the gas/electric ?
Anyone else with EON for FIT and Gas/Electric ?
Any comments welcome ? Why doesn't the installer do this for you , that's what i thought would happen ?
What are EON like at paying up for the FIT ? Can you opt for combining all your EON FIT/Gas/Elec and just getting a smaller bill or monthly DD ?

I am with EON for FIT & Electricity. I have 2 seperate accounts.
I have asked in the past if they will combine them, but they cannot as the 2 are seperate parts of the business - same applies to payments & readings.
It's not up to the installer who you apply to for FITs, you can choose whoever you want, so it's up to you to follow it through - I'm sure the installer would do it for you at a price if you asked them, but they're a business so aren't going to spend time doing something for free that you can do yourself.
My FIT application took less than 2 weeks start to finish, but I was an early adopter 4 years ago and things were obviously a lot different then! They have always been good at paying, usually within a week-fortnight of getting my reading.0 -
Any comments welcome ?
Probably a good idea to chase them up, once you know they have the application, and just ask them to look through it and check it's complete, and no errors.
That doesn't mean the process is complete, could take ages for the contract to be sorted, it's just to nail down the date when they have a complete application. Otherwise, if they find something is missing or wrong, and you send it to them after 1/4/15 you'll get the lower FiT rate.

I am with E.on for gas/leccy and 2 lots of FiT.
they were really helpful on the phone and everything ran smoothly.
I phoned them and talked my form through with them both times before submitting.
I then scanned the form, attached to an email with the other required information, scanned or otherwise, and sent the mail. A received response was received by return, which is the important thing, and the process then ran its course. Fits need a meter reading the say you send the form and cannot be back dated for the period from commissioning to form submission, so send it asap.
You can access your E.on FiT account online in the same way you can your gas/leccy and enter meter readings etc. You just set it up once you get the account reference.
Your meter read date will be 3 months from FiT start date and then quarterly thereafter- mine are 25 March, June, September and December.
And then the money begins to flow0 -
Thanks Everyone .... Forms , ID , proof of address and other papers sent off today .... So at latest they should receive it is Tuesday . Should i ring them on Friday to ask about receiving it to ensure that i get the rate pre 1/4/15 (when the rate goes from 13.88 - 13.39p ) Also when would my increase due to inflation start , April 2016 i would think ?
On a topic linked to this Solar install ... We haven't been on Economy 7 for about 10 years and the electrician asked if we were as there was a big glass box thing holding a clock on our electric board as he needed the space to install the other stuff ... So i told him to remove it and i would contact EON about it to change the way my meter readings are done in the future (at present i give the two readings a high and low that they add together and that makes my total usage , i am on a single rate afterall) I would then in the future just give the third reading from the meter which is the two other figures totalled up ... Quite simple i thought but NO ! The metering man got in a big huff and refused to listen to what i was trying to explain stating they would have to fit a new meter ! So they are coming to fit a new meter next week , when infact they already have a meter reading my total usage anyway !0 -

I'd call em, worth having a nice chat anyway and checking all is well. As I said, it's not about getting the contract completed, it's just making sure that the date they record for having received a complete and correct application is before the end of March. You don't want them reading it on the 1/4/15 only to point out you forgot to sign it.
Your export rate will go up this year, but you only get FiT inflationary uplifts from the year after the install. So 31st Dec install, you get your first uplift 3 months later. 1st Jan install, you have to wait 15 months. Bright side, this years is quite small.

Update - My application was received on 09/03/15 and that is my start date . Have given them my meter reading on 09/03/15 but have had the forms returned to amend the meter model number - Its not the same as that embossed/printed onto the meter , must take it off the MCS certificate .
Also worth noting is that they will accept copies of the forms you need to send them , this is not clear from their application form. They state you can send a photocopy of the Passport but no reference to copies of the other items required , like an MCS certificate . It is mentioned on their website but you don't fill out a form and have to cross refer to a website , do you ?
So the goods news - Earning from the 09/03/15 - Happy Days
Well Done EON too for being so efficient .0 -
Hi Minrich and thank you for the kind comments. Glad we've looked after you.
Already some great advice on here, thanks all. Looks like most things have been covered but thought I'd stop by and confirm a few points.
Now we've received your application and meter readings, our specialist FIT team will be putting everything through for you. It can take a number of weeks to sort with the actual time depending on how busy the FIT teams are. As you say, we aim to complete within 8 weeks but hopefully earlier.
Once sorted, we'll send your payments quarterly based on the meter readings you give us. These will be sent directly to your bank or by cheque depending on the preference you've gone for. I've just spoken to our FIT team and payments are currently being made within 7 to 10 working days of receiving readings. The payments are adjusted each year to allow for inflation. This is in line with the Retail Price Index.
Just to confirm Andy's post, we're not able to combine the FIT and conventional energy accounts. The two parts are dealt with separately.
As pinnks says, you can manage the FIT account online in a similar way to the imported electricity and gas accounts. To do this, you'll need to register the FIT account number as well. This will be different from the existing account numbers and from the FIT ID number.
Please go to our website and register with the same email address and password used on the conventional energy account. When logging in, enter the email address as the User ID followed by the password. You'll see an option to choose to view the FIT or the usual energy account. At the moment, there's a little glitch and the FIT account has a gas symbol. Don't worry, if you choose this, your FIT account will come up.
Once set up, you'll be able to enter meter readings, see the payment and generation history as well as seeing details of the feed in tariffs. There's plans to expand this service but it's a work in progress at the moment.
Not sure why the meter technician insisted on a new meter for the imported electricity. With Economy 7, we're happy to add the day and night usage together and charge as a single rate if this is better for the customer.
Hope this helps Minrich. There's quite a bit of detail on our website too. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.
