I am looking to remortgage with another provider rather than Nationwide. I have 20 % LTV and have been mortgage customer of Nationwide for 10 years however I have hit a problem trying to remortgage due to them having problems with our address. I had a decision in principal when we were going to move in August last year and it went through no problem.
Didnt sell in the end and now that we are remortgaging some months later suddenly have a problem their end. They cant tell me when it will be fixed and cant explain why suddenly now it wont accept our address. I suspect it is operator error. Have had a few problems with them recently and have decided it doesnt pay to have every product with one bank. Due to errors have taken thousands of pounds of childrens savings elsewhere . I will also be taking my bank account and savings as well in near future .
Looking at fee saver from First Direct as they also have good current account . I stay in scotland . If I go ahead will I need a solicitor or can whole thing be done without incurring costs. They will be paying for valuation. As mortgage amount is relatively small it wouldnt be worth my while swapping if we have costs. Nationwide would be £s a month cheaper but I am determined to move as the customer service is terrible .Had problems with every aspect. Current account, savings, mortgage and credit card so voting with my feet.
