Probably not as much of a consideration now with stamp duty changes, but bear in mind that all these extras will be added to your purchase price and can push you into a new stamp bracket. This used to be a big issue for people who were buying a new build just under a threshold, only for the extras to push them into the higher band.0

Has anyone any experience or tarmac driveway versus brick paved. Earlier phases were paved on site now tarmac, we could brick for extra cost. It seems to look nicer but is it hard to clean / worth it0

Hi all I checked and carpet underlay is standard. We need to choose fireplace or glass fire. Also looking at doors as not sure about builders ones. Would white doors look funny with standard cream walls ?? Still not sure about paving front.
Heres hoping our house sale does not fall through again, had in depth survey yesterday.0 -

Personal preference as to looks, but wood finish doors are much easier cared for, painting white ones is a pain in the gizzard. Is there gas to the new house? If so, consider a gas fire, good looking, clean and handy.
Brick paving is nice but, again, has to be maintained. Asphalt is a good hard wearing surface, hardier than Tarmac, worth the little extra cost and probably no dearer than brick. Easily kept clean, spray with well diluted Hypo twice a year, wee buns!0
