Husbands previous debt and buying a house

Completely opposite to the experience of a friend of mine who was refused a mortgage with one lender because she could not evidence where the deposit was from!!(is was a combination of savings and a helping hand from her family) Don't underestimate recent changes to the checks and affordability tests done during mortgage applications.
To the OP - you do need professional advice if you want to protect the property from your OH's creditors0
