Commute to London 3X per week - Should I buy a Season ticket?

Hello,
I am moving out of London to Folkestone. I will be working in London 3 days per week and will be commuting to Covent Garden via HS1 & Piccadilly Line (or walking on the really nice days)
Is it still worth getting an annual season ticket? It's in excess of£5K Would it be possible to get cheaper advance tickets?
Does anyone do this commute regularly?
Thanks,
EG

Monthly season tickets can be had for any period over one month, so consider getting ~five week tickets, finishing on you last working day before a gap, and the next ticket starting on you next travelling day. Leave gaps between tickets when on holiday, maybe bank hols, etc, and you may find that method cheaper than an annual ticket.
You need to do the sums.0 -
Don't know about where you are but round me season tickets are only cheaper than daily tickets when you get to 4+ journeys per week.0

On my line (Abellio Greater Anglia into Liverpool Street), annual season ticket is cheaper than dailies for travelling three days a week. It's only worth buying dailies if you work two days a week. I went down from full-time to three days a week and was irked by this.
Monthly season tickets work out more expensive than annuals, so if you were to go monthly rather than annual you may be better off with dailies.
This is all assuming you're travelling in rush hour?0
