Gutted - Affiliate Marketing

Just wanted to share in my success and also failure I suppose you could say with affiliate marketing!
Basically I have been working as an Affiliate as a side hobby for years, creating a variety of websites and seeing if I could make a bit of extra income from it. I've never had any great success, made a couple of £100 or so over the years but nothing great.
I pretty much gave up on doing it as I didn't see it as an income until some tickets were going on sale that were associated with one of my websites so I set up my affiliate links with Ticketmaster through my website - this is a website i've been running for almost 5 years that over time has become quite popular. Anyway, I was shocked at how well I did, at one point I was making £15 a minute, and I sold nearly £300k of Tickets for them! Sadly this is most likely a one off, as the official website who would advertise tickets hadn't stated clearly where to buy them from so customers came to me as the next best website asking where they could buy tickets - I'm pretty certain this website have now realised their mistake in not giving out enough info so this amount of sales will never happen again.
Anyway cut to today and Ticketmaster have declined 90% of my transactions stating they don't accept transactions in euros (as the tickets were for a show in Ireland) even though both myself and a family member read over everything to do with their affiliates and we never saw anything written in their t&c's until today about that -they've now added a line in there about not accepting transactions in euros. So they've pretty much cancelled all my orders.
I've tried to appeal but they've basically said I haven't a leg to stand on, and how do you go up against a global company like TM.
So basically, I've made Ticketmaster almost £300k, and got almost nothing for it except for a new achievement on my CV.
Would I say affiliate marketing is worth the time and effort? Not really.
But maybe I'm just a bit bitter! lol

I don't know the terms and conditions of whether you have done something wrong but perhaps some noise on Twitter/Facebook etc. may get your case looked at again??0

Sorry to hear about your plight with Ticketmaster cha-ching.
You seem to have had quite an unfortunate experience, but I can
honestly say that, there is money to be made with affiliation. There
are a fair amount of internet marketers who make good commissions
promoting psychical products with sites like Amazon and people who have large email lists tend to promote digital products from the Clickbank marketplace and make sums you would struggle to make
working for an employer.
Try not to give up on your journey and treat this as perhaps a painful
experience and move on from itLao Tzu - "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime"

Do you know how to do this or know a non scam site that explains how to do it? I actually have a few decent email lists so I am interested0 -

I'm not an expert by any means, but I do have a fair idea in how to feed a hungry market. Most things (in life) are about trial and error, so if you give yourself enough time then, anything's possible.
I've been involved with online marketing for over six years and I'm still learning. If I wasn't then, I'd probably give up!Lao Tzu - "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime"

Cheers. You have any actual info on how to get started on Clickbank?
Props for your determination :T0 -
I've made some money through affiliate marketing and it's quite tough. You really do have to either strike it lucky, or work hard to keep the plates spinning. Many companies change their terms at the drop of a hat. Just when I've seen great/growing/steady incomes building I've had loads change their terms. Even ebay did it - they used to pay £25/new member you persuaded to sign up who bought something.
It's good while it lasts, but they do change their terms.
Freelancer was another, I was doing great on their lifetime earnings deal, then they changed it to only earning a %age of income in the first 3 months of somebody's sign up.... of course many successful people sign up and don't do much for 3-6 months. One person I signed up, over the first couple of years, brought me in over £300.
It can be lucrative, but it sometimes sucks.
And that reminds me .... spotted a great opportunity this morning, so off to check if I've been authorised yet0
