I need to go for a medical treatment in Russia (HSCT for MS) as the NHS wont provide it,
So i have 60% of the cost but still need £10k more, so need to gt a loan,

ive never had a loan but i dont work but receive ESA Support group and DLA higher rate,

Is it possible for someone like me to get a reasonable rate £10k loan?
any recommendations?

thanks

No-one's going to give you a loan of £10k without a regular source of employment, sorry.

I agree with Gaz83. It seems very hard, though. Are there any MS charities that might be able to help with a loan or a grant? Family? I wouldn't generally lend to family, but I would for something like this, so it might be worth asking.

Unfortunately the other posters are correct - no income = no loan.

I must admit to some curiosity as to how you came to your decision to opt for HSCT - is this based on the recent positive reporting or some more in depth research? My query is pertinent to me as my wife has MS also and I am also aware that I have been no help whatsoever regarding your own query. Nevertheless, please do not feel obliged to elaborate!

You could try a GoFundMe page maybe. From a quick google, it sounds like there are some UK trial results of HSCT on MS patients due out this year. If those are good then NICE might well change its mind and fund treatment in the UK, so it might be worth waiting.

I had to spend the £15k your talking about on treatment abroad,
google 'HSCT' and you'll see how fun it was!

    Thanks for the replies,
ill ask the MS Society and hopefully they'll loan me the money.

Purdy, i was going to have HSCT last year but was scammed into going to India instead for CTP treatment (google Doug Broeska scam). which cost me $35k, i was originally going to go to Moscow for HSCT in May last year.
I done all my research online speaking to past patients and Drs abroad.

HSCT is ideal for relapsing MS patients but is still successful in progressive patients
at stopping the disease progression, and symptomm improveements are less significant.
