Are we still classed as having adverse credit?

DH and I had several defaults registered against us back in 2008/2009.

Our credit files no longer show these defaults as they are over 6 years. All debt was paid off 2010/2011.

We are now looking to get a mortgage and have a 10% deposit.

We are happy to use a broker but wonder do we still need to use a broker who specializes in adverse or are we now adverse free.

The only negative I still have is Barclays never defaulted me and added an AP marker, this reverted back to green ok markers in 2011 when my payments were no longer reduced.

Thanks.

The defaults are no longer visible, but the AP marker remains visible for another couple of years.

You won't be shopping in the adverse specialist sector, but there will still be a few high street lenders closed to you.

I'd see a broker as it can be placed fairly easily, but on the whole I'd avoid credit scoring high street lenders.
