    That's the way it used to work but not any more, many of the discounts are much less than they used to be and there's far more regular discounts now in between so I guess it gives them a more balanced system. Even before the Steam sales I never bought anything at rrp from Steam as you could usually buy the physical disk for far less even on release.

    Software wise, the Steam sale for me, most of the time, but I just end up like a lot of people, with a lot of games that I don't get time to spend much, if any time on.

    As for hardware, well, I used to be bothered in the past to buy and upgrade my PC, with more ram, a new graphics card and sound card etc...but now I buy a PC that will be decent at running games for at least 3 years, then look at buying another PC.

    I guess I'm fortunate in that if I want a new £2k + PC every 3 years or so, I can afford one.
