Experian Report

Noticed on my Experian report this morning that all my available credit is duplicated. For example, I have 2 credit cards and it's saying I have four with double the credit allowance. I contacted Experian this morning and they've said that it's an error and it has affected my credit score.
I don't think it's much of an issue for me as I was credit scored for a mortgage and was AIP based on my score. However, just a flag to encourage others to check just in case!!
Thanks!

Hi Herbieb,
I trust my colleague who you spoke to was able to able to correct this for you and I’m sorry to hear this has happened.
This kind of duplication can be caused if an address is entered on your CreditExpert profile twice.
The report you view is produced by searching for information in your name at the addresses listed in your profile. If an address is listed twice then the information is retrieved twice on the report.
The good news is lenders won’t see the duplicated information as they don’t use the CreditExpert system to search. The Experian score is provided for your reference only as a guide to how we believe lenders will rate your information and lenders will use their own scoring systems.
I’m glad to hear that you didn’t have a problem with your mortgage application, and if you have any issues with your report still, please get in touch.
Kind Regards
