after lurking on here for years I finally decided its time I had my own diary , somewhere I can say what I feel very hard to do that in real life , I don't like sounding like a whinger and I know theres loads worse off than me
a little about me im married and have a not so little girl at home , shes 17 but still my baby :}
Im working although I cant say I enjoy it , silly shifts and management who love to hear their own voice .
my husband is recovering from a emergency operation , he got very poorly really quickly in December and has been off sick since , hence why im here , im trying so hard to keep everything going home , work, bills juggling those balls is very draining , sorry about the long post

Hi Mullersbrew,
Sounds as though you have had a rough time of it lately with your husband's illness. I hope he is recovering now?
Looking forward to reading your future posts
Take care x0 -
Sorry to hear about your OH. I hope that he recovers well. Hope you can get yourself sorted financially
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

thank you both for your replies

yes he is recovering with help from the lovely nurses who call every day to change his dressings , they do a brilliant job and deserve more credit and money than they get .
financially its a huge learning curve , ive had my lbm a while ago long before this happened but like all good plans there,s always something to set you back . OH is on sick pay , a huge drop from normal wages, ive used our savings which wasn't a huge amount after helping to pay for my eldest daughter,s wedding in May 2013 and my youngest son,s wedding in October last year , lovely days both of them though so im glad I could help .
the great thing about being on here is ive read loads of diaries and I know you are all lovely and ive picked up a few tips , im not afraid of giving a more frugal way of life a go even if I have no choice

Today has been all about the cleaning , I love the sunshine wasn't happy about the dirty windows all sparkly now

Think tonight after Eastenders I,ll make myself a nice cuppa and get the bills folder out , it needs a sort out its still has last years bills in there and old car insurance papers
Cook tea first0 -
been a busy few weeks , life seems to be passing by in a whirl this year ! summer is round the corner at last , cant wait for the sunshine and longer days makes me feel so much happier .
moneywise I wrote to aqua and cap 1 to explain our current financial situation and must say they have been great , its scary to write that letter admitting you cant afford the payments , aqua have requested a financial statement , but cap 1 have said to make no payments till june , I will make a little payment monthly but it just shows never to be afraid , just write and explain and help is out there .:)0 -
well is taken four and a half months to be officially broke , I withdrew my last 14 pound from the building society on Tuesday , that felt really bad . I had a meltdown on the same day , wondering why im bothering to get out off bed everyday to go to a place that's cold , due to a faulty door ! to be seeing no benefit , I stupidly said all this out loud and the OH said he,d go look for a part time job , hes still employed but the job might be too much for him , I felt really bad then , its not his fault he got ill , no one saw it coming , its just one of lifes ups and downs . I apologised to him . I have such bad mood days , then days when I struggle to do the most simplest of tasks . and days when im normal when I can cope .
on the money front only new water bill and new council tax bill this month to deal with , no nasty shocks , food in the cupboards still , all normal bills paid for that im grateful
sorry for the ramble0 -
You are not rambling.

five months on and oh is nearly better yahoo , not sure whether he,l be able to go back to his job has it involves very early mornings and driving long distances , im hoping for anything , even part time is better than sick pay
im grateful that he,s healing , it could have been so much worse had the illness not been so quick at taking him completely off his feet , you think you are healthly and then wham you get very sick , my mission in the very near future is to make sure we always have some savings in the bank , I never want to be in this position again , not without a back up plan just in case , we are still young , well middle aged I think they say and yet ive already had a op several years ago and now oh has , just goes to show that you don't know whats going to happen and if you think it wont happen , it can .
moneywise I got paid last week and thought I had nothing left until I went to the cashpoint today and found a loan had been paid up , bit of spare money is always a bonus , that will keep us going till the end of the month , I know I can shop a lot better than I have in the past , no more wasting money when things are back to normal for this girl and that's a promise0 -
im surviving ! its surprising how little you can get by on when you have no choice and how good it feels . silly I know but ive realised that theres more to life than shopping , apart from the obvious essential food shop that is and im liking having to shop around and get those bargains
ive also found other people who I work with are in a similar situation moneywise , im a honest person and if the conversation arises I have no problem in admitting its been hard and they've then opened up to me , this forum has also helped knowing that out there is thousands of people trying to get off the debt train , very inspiring
oh is very nearly better and ready to go back to work , then I have to get to work on catching up and clearing my debts
I also need to get work done on the house , my son is kindly paying for the spare room to be plastered this week and he will decorate for me , I already have the paper , the carpet and bits and bobs all purchased last year before oh illness , luckily ive been a bit of a hoarder if I see a bargain , no if I saw a bargain id grab it
I had a bargain today a brand new with tags nxxt jacket for the grand price of 6.99 charity shop find and a designer watch £8 its payday and a little cheer me up
sometimes no matter what a little treat0 -
Charity shop bargains sound just fab
