Hi legoman - it has certainly taken you a long time to get this plan started - I know it hasn't been your fault and BARCLAYCARD certainly haven't done you any favours.
Still, congratulations on managing to finally get it off the ground - here's to an early DFD.

tell me about it. i got really worried that it was taking so long. i started to get the standard letters from the creditors threatening court action!

then it all came together. call from payplan saying it's ready to go ahead! thank whoever (i'm agnostic)...

these letters from the banks threatening court action were a bit laughable though. i had two on the same day. one saying we are drafting up papers for a ccj and bailiffs to come to your house - maybe - and the other saying if you pay £50 now we'll let you off for a bit. i called payplan and they advised not to pay as it favours the creditor.

now any letters i get i send to payplan and they deal with it!!!! sweet!

no need to apologies. it wasn't your fault:D it seemed to be payplans policy with my situation. the loan was weird and payments were all wrong but got there in the end. they came up with a sensible amount so fingers crossed the creditors will accept it all.

i had threatening letters from mercers a while back (mentioned on here somewhere) and that never amounted to anything. i just kept my cool and made them do all the work. it's amazing how powerful you can be with a little help from here. i actually sent mercers a letter, containing legislation from here, telling them how wrong they are in what they are doing regarding threats to me and calling me all the time at work. i never heard from them again!

That's good lm - MERCERS were absolute s0ds with me - even AFTER bankruptcy - in the end I had to write to BARCLAYCARD and tell them to 'call off the dogs'.

thats pretty unfortunate! it seems to all be standard letters so i just thought what the hey! if they're gonna do they're gonna do it... i may have been lucky i dunno but they soon gave in. they started off all high and mighty and just expect people to give in because of the stigmata that goes with debt collectors but times are different and they soon stopped dealing with the debt. the next week i started getting letters from barclaycard again saying the same as they did before they introduced mercers. i just thought "well there ya go then".

as i say, i may have just been fortunate in that they didn't do anything. it would be good to hear other peoples stories about mercers.

Thank yourself, without your own determination and will to get out of debt you wouldnt have taken the initial steps, and certainly wouldnt have gotten as far as posting this great news

    Keep up the good work
