New mortgage and previous but recent late payments

I've got myself into a tizz over 2 recent late credit card payments. I've been a day late on one card and another was 6 days late but I'm disputing it but it stands as late for now. The rest is clean although I'm using the free trial for Experian and will wait for the pin to check and be sure.

Now our house is on the market and we're looking to port our mortgage with the Co-op (locked-in) and take an extra £40-50k on it. Bringing us to £230k and a LTV of 38%. I flagged up the lateness for the AIP and it wasn't a problem but that is just an AIP.

Have I royally messed this up or is there hope for us? Is it worth liaising with a broker now just in case it all goes wrong.

I'd be grateful for any advice/guidance. I've maybe let my family down here and I'll be living in the kennel forever.

A payment made within the month does not usual appear as a miss on the credit file.

Check your file before you do anything else.

If in doubt, get a broker involved.

Set-up a direct debit for the minimum payment. There's only on time or late.

The cards were HSBC and MBNA. HSBC informed me (given i'm disputing this) even if it is a day late, it automatically goes onto the credit file. They did also say that even if I had a missed payment mark, that it doesn't mean a no at all. Not sure how reassured I felt tbh.

I have now setup DDs to clear all and any debt on these cards. The amounts were small but am assuming that doesn't make any difference. If you're late, you're late.

HSBC can second-guess another lender's reaction to adverse credit?

Amazing. Even I wouldn't presume to speculate on that...

I asked them about their own process. They'd hunted down an underwriter apparently to check.

Sorry. I thought you were applying to Co-op.

It'll be in your contract terms and conditions attached to the account.

Be pointless having credit agencies if there were no rules.

I had HSBC cc once and paid late, just few days. It didn't go on credit file. Next account, on other had, yes.
