Hi all, I have had a short diary before, but thought now I have done my calculations and have set targets and a time frame I should start a new diary which should be more structured.
we have been debt free for around a month now.
so the next step is too build up an emergency fund and then we will concentrate on the house fund we are wanting to save a deposit so unlike most of you my diary isn't about becoming mortgage free just yet but I feel this is the most relevant board.
first target save up a £1000 emergency fund
second target save £19,000 by dec 31st 2016 (house fund)
other targets
make £50 on top cashback in 2015 (£28.70 pending)
make £500 on eb$y in 2015 (£130 so far after fees and postage)
oh a short intro for if you haven't seen me around before we are a family of 4 .. me and my partner are 22 and 23 (been together since 2007) with two sons a cat and last Thursday we welcomed a puppy to our family. I like to think im quiet money savvy, partner has recently found full time work that fits around his college course, and I recently accepted a place at the local college to start in September part time.
other than buying a house we also have other dreams but until we get the ball rolling on the house fund these will wait.
anyway that's enough of me chatting. look forward to speaking to you all

hi hun thanks for taking the time to reply

hes a crossbread spaniel x collie he was 10 weeks Saturday just gone
oh wow hopefully they wont be quiet as much
yeah we rent hun we were in a 2 bed house but exchanged a few years ago to a 2 bed flat as it was a much better area for us although we have deeply regretted moving to a flat we have a garden but have to allow neighbours access to there gas metre which is a bit of a pain and they are so noisy above
cant wait to get out of here tbh but we know it will be at least 6 years maybe 7 as that will be when we are hopefully both working fulltime. partners at college training as a motorbike mechanic (along side working) its what he enjoys and although the pay may be less than what he's earning at the moment at least he will be in a job he enjoys.
im doing 2 years maybe 3 at college from September and then hoping to complete a degree in nursing like my partner its what ive always wanted to do, im so grateful we both have the opportunity to go back to education.200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
Morning all.
I have so much still to do I seem to be on a go slow this week
got £23 sat in my paypal at the moment and £20 odd in tcb. going to let them build up before I transfer to savings accounts
got a £5 off fresh flowers thanks to Tesco orchard scheme. would it be wrong to use it for mother in laws flowers on mothers day
found lots of apps and sites to get money off food items.
I know its all little things but if it helps us cut back the amount we spend then we can save more or have a little bit of extra money for treats
200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
we're on target with our savings just about
I have done ok on ebay the last couple of weeks but not amazing it all helps though
I need to make sure I keep a firm eye on our spends over the coming weeks
I have 100 free listings on ebay that ends tonight so once the kids are in bed im going to get as much listed as I possibly can
have the dentist later.
need to finish my jobs around the house and post parcels
dress baby again and then take him to in laws before I head off to the dentist this afternoon200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
been to the dentist - managed to park for free so saved a few pound there
posted parcels
listed another 8 items on ebay
everyone's fed
money in accounts shuffled (getting there slowly)
kids have just settled to bed
going to enjoy my hot cuppa and then list some more on ebay
night night all200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
its been a week since I posted.
not great news at all had to put £900 on the credit card and use the savings because partners bike is knackered, its worth a lot more than the work that needs doing so not worth scrapping
hes got to have the whole top end and rear end of the engine rebuilt as well as a few other minor repairs, he would of done it his self but doesn't have the tools help or equipment needed (he's basically got to have the whole engine rebuilt) we would have left it till we had the money to cover costs but he needs it too get to college and work because I cant really be left with no car, I know its not my partners fault but im really annoyed started to feel like we were finally getting somewhere and then we get completely knocked back
really don't know why im even bothering sometimes.
anyway that's my moan from me done I hope your all well.
due to the above my new aim is clear credit card as well as trying to build up savings ..200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
Chin up, Optimistic-mummy
Sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. Have you got a 0% credit card and if not, could you apply for one? You are already doing so well with you're ebaying etc so keep it up and you will get there xx :money:0 -
hi thankyou for taking the time to reply
no the cc isn't 0% but it is reasonably low 9.9%
we have never been charged this though as I have always made way more than minimum payment when we did use it previously
im going to work out a plan B by tonight until we are back on our feet.
ebay is going well, only small amounts here and there but its all helping
got another 2 items to post once payment Is made200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -

Ah its just will motivate you to save and move out :]
Ya doing something you enjoy earning a bit less is much better than earning a bit more and not enjoying yourself in life
