    And all that positive economic news with immigration of 600K plus and net migration of c. 300K........

    While unemployment plummeted, employment rose to record highs, and wages grew faster than inflation.

    Well done coalition indeed. :)

    It might be a surplus for millionaires, tax dodging corporations and ghastly landlords, but all the average man in the street sees is austerity and insecurity.

    The picture of grinning George Osborne says it all. A grinning rentier rubbing his hands on his thighs while the workers suffer.

    It's a surplus for the country, which thanks to Labour we've not been able to achieve for seven long years. That's quite an achievement and I'll be watching next month keenly in the hope that we can again make a big difference to that months figures. A booming economy boosts tax receipts thanks to the Coalition. :T

    amazing ; one months' figures tell no story

    amazing : with an increasing population we have increasing total number of people employed.

    who would have ever considered that possible?

    It isn't a surplus, it's a relatively slight drop in borrowing born off the back of massive cuts that have almost exclusively hit the poor and vulnerable. Meanwhile corporations and the already rich have money shovelled into their pockets.

    To hell with this phony surplus.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Still borrowing £80 BILLION per year. When he promised to eliminate the deficit in 4 years.
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Economic credibility
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Much like doing a raindance the current government are just lucky that they were in charge when the economy started to recover, nothing they have done has made the slightest bit of difference.
    Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

    A lot of people will read this article and think that the uk isn't running an enormous deficit suddenly. It's misleading to say the least. As usual under the Tories those with the narrowest shoulders bear the heaviest burden, meanwhile the Mayfair set are laughing all the way to the bank.

    more people = more people working,and of course inflation has fallen to meet wages not vice versa,will be interesting to see if wages plummet further to chase the 0% inflation thats on its way

    and there is the explanation income tax receipts from the self employed are collected in january giving a boost to the figures,but we are still on course to a £91 billion deficit this financial year
