Hi all can anyone help with a problem. Both me and my partner were made bankrupt in December 2008. I am wanting to move my mortgage but not get any credit.
I have just looked at our experian and equifax reports and it it showing a lot of things still on there some defaulting in December 2010.
So the question is if I get equifax to remove them will they be removed from experian as well or do I have to pay both company's to do this.
I have asked equifax to do this and they are on with it. I am half way through my free trial. I have already used my free trial with Experian.
Or lastly is there a way for me to do it myself. I dont have anything from the courts either they did not send me anything to do with my discharge. I have asked for a letter but still waiting.
Any help appreciated.

Hi....if you are Discharged from BAnkruptcy, then that , itself, would have been automatic [Automatic Discharge] 12 months from date of petition.
It isn't normally notified in writing,as it is 'automatic'.
You can contact your Official Receiver [the person who administered your bankruptcy]....and ask for written confirmation of your Discharge. This should be free.
If you ask the Court for likewise, they will probably charge a hefty admin fee.
It is a pity you did not find this forum back then....:(...as you would have been advised to conduct a credit file clean-up...which, essentially, ensures all your defaults for accounts included within the Bankruptcy, had default dates no later than the date of your petition.
You may need to contact the defaulted account holders and get them to alter those dates....they are obliged to do so.
Equifax & Experian are entirely separate companies.
Since BR is an individual petition, you will both have to go through this process. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Thank you for the reply.
I suppose the last thing a new bankrupt person thinks about is cleaning up there file so early.
Looks like I might as well wait until the 6 years is up on all the defaulted accounts its only another 6 months.0
