I had a wageday advance payday loan which I defaulted on.

I set up a payment plan and they took the first payment of 39.13 which was fine. My mum stepped in and then paid the full balance off over the phone she then asked for them to close my account which he did and confirmed.

I later logged on to my bank to see another pending transaction to wageday for 119 pounds! The arrears were all cleared and my account is closed?!?!

I'm now panicking as to why they have taken this out? is it a mistake?

I am calling 8AM tomorrow but would love some opinions/help

PLEASE

    When was your account closed?

Then the payment would have already been set up to come out. Not sure what you expected TBH. Payments are arranged a couple of days in advance. It's why you need to give a few days' notice to cancel a direct debit.

Absolutely nothing the company (or your bank) will be able to do to stop the payment. Best you can hope for is asking for a refund when they take it. They should oblige.

I had set up a payment plan for 39.13 a month, they had already taken it out for this month?! My mum then cleared the full arrears on her card which was successful and the man closed my account but then I got charged on my card?

I'm 99.9% sure I don't owe them anything else. Could this have been a mistake/computer error?

The payment of £119 would have been set up probably yesterday. Closing your account tonight wouldn't have been able to stop it.

But why? I never told them to set it up?

My mum's cleared the arrears and they have charged my card for the amount again?

I just want to know if i can get it back?

    I'm so worried.

More likely to have been a CPA than a Direct Debit. OP mentions the payment is pending. I don't think DDs show are pending.

Sounds like they've taken payment from the OPs debit card instead of the Mother's. Perhaps the easiest solution would be for the Mother to transfer £119 to their child's account to prevent charges and further fuss.

But do call to confirm what has happened. The payment (probably) won't hit the account proper until Monday, so there's time to get it sorted.
