Back to work question

Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I am looking at going back to employment after about 4 years due to ill health.

I am worried that potential employers will just rip up my CV when they see this long break.

Does anyone have any advice or experience of this?

I think you need to prove you are reliable again, voluntary work would help but is unpaid but make sure you show that voluntary work is fixed hours etc.

Or look into agency work

I had a 3 1/2 years gap, i just persisted with applying and tried to explain at interview that i'd taken time to recover and that said illness was now controlled by meds. Luckily they gave me a chance, and i'm still there nearly 2 years later.
