Couple looking to buy - possible to have mortgage in only one name?

Morning folks - hoping someone can help me. If a couple were looking to buy a property and one party would require a regular mortgage funded purchase and the other had the cash available to buy outright, would it be possible for just one person to take a mortgage? E.g. Purchase of 100k, person A has 10k and a 40k mortgage, person B has 50k cash. Is that sort of arrangement possible?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not normally, no.
