I can't re-register the address as it's @hotmail.co.uk and co.uk addresses are no longer available.
Shhh, do you want to know a secret....
That's not actually true.
If you click on this lovely link
And register the username as a hotmail.co.uk address... It creates that email account.0 -

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply to me. Unfortunately it seems I'm not able to gain access to my account!
I've had contact with Microsoft who are USELESS! They finally responded with a generic email to say that they can confirm my "Account is not registered on their database" (despite me sending print screens of me being logged into the account with the address visible from when I did have access) and they proceeded to copy & paste a load of irrelevant bumph about how to reset my password, completely ignoring the fact I had stated many times that I am unable to even get that far.
...and so it begins! A new email address and a massive headache starting from scratch/amending all my log-ins. *sighs* For once I'm hoping I haven't won anything but I guess what I don't know won't hurt me!
Thank you for the link Shrimply, I thought for a second you had cracked it! Unfortunately it won't let me register the username I had as "it's already in use" *bangs head against brick wall*
I like to think I'm quite tech-savvy and am really frustrated this has happened. If you use hotmail I hope you don't mind me suggesting that I would perhaps consider setting up some kind of email forwarding to another address you can access (even if you just access periodically to clear the inbox) just in case it happens to you. (I can see from Google searches that its not uncommon) I'd hate for this to happen to anyone else.
I'll be with Gmail from now on ...and throwing my boyfriends Microsoft XBox out the window. Bill Gates is dead to me! lol
Thank you again for being so kind. Best wishes to all & good luck with your comping success!0 -

Thank you! This was one of the first pages I stumbled upon yesterday, but I have not registered for any other accounts and am not listed as an alias elsewhere0 -
Have you tried a System Restore to a date just before you last had access to your emails.
Start / All programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore
This puts your system back to what it was on that date - not sure if it restores email access but its worth a try.
If it doesn't work just go to System Restore again and cancel the restore.
Its a good idea but in this case, system restore is not relevant as Hotmail is a web page just like MSE - it would be Microsoft/Hotmail who would have to restore their systems.
I don't know if the OP's problem is sorted but for anyone in general this is worth knowing as under Hotmail t&c's you are required to log in within a certain period or else, first they delete your emails and then second after so long after, delete the email address if not accessed.I wish I had thought of a better user name as this makes me sounds greedyIt was meant more tongue-in-cheek.

I would keep filling in the 'can't access my account' form. I very stupidly got drunk after a blazing row with the hubster one night and deleted his account as I thought he was up to no good. They got it up and running again within a week (but it took 3 forms)Back to comping after a couple of years overseasGood Luck Everyone0
