Monument can't confirm what the balance was ... help please!

Hi
I wonder if anyone could help?
We entered our DMP in August 2006 and the end is in sight!
On one of the debts (Monument credit card) we were able to make a successful PPI claim and the balance was cleared earlier than expected.
We are now trying to locate the balance of the card in August 2007 to ensure that our conflicting amounts (with the provider) add up! We thought the balance in August 2006 was £1995 although Monument have said they cannot confirm this but they sold the debt to Arrow Global in August 2007 for £2122.
They have confirmed the transactions but have said that they are unable to confirm the balance because its longer than 6 years?
Could anyone confirm that this is correct? Just all of the balances, payments, sold debt amounts do not add up and we think that we have overpaid by about £200.
Many thanks in anticipation

They may destroy records after 6 years.
Only way to know is to spend a tenner and send a subject access request and see what comes back.
It depends on the company, I've had statements sent as part of a SAR that were from 2001.:beer:0 -
Hi
That’s a good idea from happy_bunny. The creditor can charge £10 to satisfy your subject access request but at least you’ll know you’ve seen all the documents they’ve got.
We have a template letter for making a subject access request here:
