Very Mail Order - telephone call fee!!!

Hi
I wonder if someone could help and apologies if this is the wrong forum.
I have a Very catalogue account and pay on time every 4 weeks as normal. However my payments are made on standing order so one month I forgot to increase the standing order slightly when I ordered something extra, which resulted in an underpayment of £12.00
Not only did Very apply the late payment fee of £12 but they also called me about the account (in which I told them the shortfall was being made up). However I have just noticed my account online and they have also added a £12 Debt Collection Telephone Call Fee!
This seems a bit excessive when they already applied the £12 late payment charge and I pay regularly on time each month. So in effect a total of £24 in charges applied in one month!
Has anyone else had this problem? Could I contest this fee with them?
Thanks.

Hi,
If you look in the T's & C's of the account, you will see that charge listed there.
You can of course challenge it, best in writing, but sometimes a phone call can do the trick, be nice, tell them it won't happen again, and ask for a refund, don't ask, don't get 😉I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. And if they don't play nice, send them a complaint letter then refer to the FOS if they still refuse. This company need teaching a lesson or 2. £12 should cover their costs. Just as it's in the terms doesn't make it a fair enforceable term.:beer:0
