Dualit/Burco toasters

Ive just purchased a Dualit off eBay, but despite it's wide slots, it isn't wide enough for teacakes and the likes.
After some research, it seems I needed the NewGen model, but even though the slots on that are 28mm and the Burco's are 30mm I am wondering if I will be able to fit in thicker bakery items. A crust from a normal loaf wouldn't fit in the Vario; luckily, I have managed to resell that one on eBay; but totally confused as to what would be the best choice.

Not too sure the exact width of the inserts for this Breville Opula toaster, but I've seen some reviews for it mentioning teacakes and doorstop slices of bread still fitting in fine. It's on the pricey side, even though it's from Amazon, but it's worth a look; most of the other ones I could find have varying reviews. Some people mention bread still sticking out of the top of the Brevilla one slightly though.0

I don't mind the bread sticking out the top, its just when you have a bagel or the likes and it won't fit in at all. Every review I've looked at covers the height rather than the width of the bread. Even those that claim to be extra wide need to be wider. I'll take a look at the Breville, cheers.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £44.54/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month.
