Amazon- Delivery Refusal?

I have ordered some items from Amazon that I no longer wish to purchase. I cancelled one order, but the other shows a dispatch date of Aug 6th, it however cannot be cancelled or changed as they are 'getting it ready'. I have searched and found this...

Can I refuse delivery?
The return postage will be really high. I assumed that the dispatch date gave me time to cancel and I was wrong. If I refuse delivery, will they refund the items?
What do I do?

You can send it back for free if you tick the box 'unhappy with item'

Can you really?
To be honest I saw the shoe things in town and thought they were !!!!. So that is why I wanted to cancel. If I receive them, and then return them using a returns label and tick 'unhappy with item' then I should get refunded without being charged postage?

They'll give you a Freepost Label to print off and then just take it to the Post office and it won't cost you a penny!
