Looks like you should be fine
Thanks for that bit of positive thinking
I have read a lot of posts on these forums though of people with Halifax AIPs getting rejected on full applications.0 -

People don't though. That's why lenders also profile borrowers as part of the process.0 -

Hey that's not necessarily true! My default was during my University years where I was an extremely poor student who's main focus was on studying.
Having grown up quite a bit, got myself into a stable career and managed any credit provided to me since the default responsibly I'd like to think my entire attitude is different.0 -

Yes they do! of course they do0 -
So the full application to Halifax was entered this morning through the brokers system. She seemed adamant all is well. After hitting submit she showed me a screen showing "Application Accepted" and told me I was worrying far too much and that all that was left is rubber stamping as soon as I provide them with a SINGLE months payslip??? No 3 months bank statements, no 3 payslips or anything. Just 1 month. Is this standard for Halifax?
To be honest it's hard not to be happy about it as the confidence she is showing about the application is super high and she has said it's already been accepted. There is no valuation as it's a Scottish based mortgage so they just require a copy of the home report.
All of this sounds too good to be true so far?0 -
Mortgage broker called me this morning and stated that valuation is done (Scotland so just home report) and Halifax has come back with a full offer! Exactly 24 hours from full application to offer which she said was the quickest she's ever seen with Halifax.
Could not be more thrilled. She is definitely a fantastic broker.
The unsatisfied default did not even seem to bring up a flag and me paying it off really made no difference but in the end I'm glad I did as it puts me back on track from my erroneous student days.
For those of you with 4+ year old defaults this just goes to show there is still hope!
Thanks everyone!0
