Dyson DC58 USA version

Hi guys
I'm going to the USA in a weeks time for work and I have a friend that can get me a Dyson DC58 for $144 this is a massive saving on what it is in the UK.
My question is I know the voltage is different in the USA much lower but products like IPads, laptop etc are not affected by this as they have an external transformer I think. So does anyone know if the Dyson will be the same or will I be getting something that won't work here?
Thanks for the advise.

You need to check the rating of the mains adapter, otherwise buy a UK one.

This is what I thought. But Dyson said the plug is not the "power source" they seem to say that the unit is built for each country. Maybe they just mean the plug?0

I have a handheld Dyson, can't remember which model, but i'm not impressed. There are better, cheaper ones about.
I do have a normal upright Dyson too which is brilliant.0 -

It will be 110v you could buy a transformer but that would be large/heavy/expensive.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

Ok so from what you guys know it's not like a TV or such when you plug a cable in and the transformer is in the unit. I know my Samsung TV came with both UK and US plugs so did my sling box I was wondering if Dyson might be the same.0
