Birthday due, any companies give email discounts?

Hi guys, its my partners birthey on friday adn we are going shopping, do any companys give you discounts or anything free on birthdays if you register to there email newsletters etc like maybe discounts at clothes shops like topman, river island etc or maybe free stuff that anyone know off? thanks:)
