Discharged for 10 years - want to rent house

  • I have been renting ever since i filed for Bankruptcy. I have always declared it and had a guarantor. I have never had to pay 6 months up front but a friend of mine had to with a particular lettings agency due to poor credit history. You can check your credit report on checkmyfile.com and it will tell you what score landlords can see its different from the credit score lenders can see.

    Good luck

Likewise...I have never had issues with regards to BR.....neither have I ever had to pay 'up front'...or provide a guarantor!

I have always had positive responses from estate/letting agents in this respect..and have always made it clear, right from the start, I will not provide [6 months] advance rent, or a guarantor...and in that respect, it is up to the agent, and their landlord, to pick the bones out of it.

Remember, they are both in the business of earning incomes......they seek reliability of payment, and for the most part, a desire for long term lets....if ever I was to be turned away, that is their loss, not mine......[a LL with a high turnover of tenants says something about the LL and the properties, eh?]
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
