UK mortgage for Spanish property?

Hi all,
I currently have a mortgage in Spain, but the interest rate is much higher than what the UK offers.

I'd like to refinance through a UK bank, and pay a UK interest rate, but it seems like a minefield of information, much of which is contradictory.

Does anyone know who I might contact (a real person with a real phone number and a real UK based address) that I can discuss this with?

This may have a bearing; I am a contractor who has returned to the UK only 13 months ago, though the property in Spain has been ours for 10 years, and we bought it when we lived here last time. The reason I mention the dates here in the UK, is that I know some banks dont like people who havent been in the country for a long time.

Also on the plus side, I think the LTV would be maybe 30%.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

You can secure a UK mortgage on a UK property but not a Spanish one.

What rate is your Spanish mortgage? Could you not remortgage to another Spanish bank.

We have one with Barclay's Spain (now caixa) and it fixes every 12 months. We are at just under 1.5% at the moment and hopefully that should drop slightly in April when it re fixes.
