  • Im sorry if i sound dumb, but what does troll thread mean? Im guessing its something not very nice, as trolls are not very nice.

I am only asking if anyone knows of a loan company that will lend such a small amount of money. Everywhere seems to have a minimum of £80, and i really dont need/want that much.

There must be somewhere out there that caters for very small amounts, as im guessing that im not the only one that has ever needed such a small amount.

It means I think your post(s) are made up.

You said you had tried to claim benefits and were unable to. Now you're saying you're going to make a claim for benefits. This doesn't add up.
"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."
  • I tried to claim benefits when i was first made redundant, but due to my redundancy pay wasnt eligible to.

I have no money left from the redundancy pay, so was hoping that as i now have no money, i would now be in a position to claim. Im not sure if they would allow me to though, as not sure if they would say the redundancy pay should of lasted me for a set amount of time. Im not sure on where i stand with that, or if they would accept that i had to pay it out on a vet bill.

Im confused, but the only way i will know, is to try. Ive got no idea on how the system works, or what the rules are, as am totally new to this. I only know what they told me when i tried to claim before. They also told me that as i was having to attend to a sick animal many times a day, i wouldnt of been classed as actively seeking work. As im only having to go down there in the evenings now, to muck out and feed her, they cant say im not available for work, or actively seeking work.

Get a loan for £80, put £50 aside and use the £30 for your travel expenses?

How could you not have worked something like that out?

Can you request a loan from your new employer, the money to be taken back out of your first wage? I know my husband had many new starts asking for a small advance payment to help fund their return to work so he was used to it and did not think anything less of the new employee for asking.
  • This has now been sorted. Thank you for everyones suggestions.
  • This sort of thread makes me very uneasy as it reads like the poster is hoping someone from this board will send them the money. There are only so many sources - sell stuff, loan, family. If those are all exhausted what help do people miraculously think folk will come up with?

How exactly did you get the situation sorted, OP? In a different way that may be of help to others in the future?

All I'm thinking is surely if you were made redundant, you'd have held on to at least £100 of that money.... surely....

Indeed, that went through my mind also. Surely 30 quid is not hard to come by. :rotfl:
