Fish sauce

Just discovered a bottle of fish sauce in the cupboard, it's opened but well in date still but says that it should have been put in the fridge.

Is it safe to use? I keep ketchup etc in the cupboard and don't think twice about using them but as it's fish I was wondering if it's OK?

Sorry am paranoid about this sort of thing!

I have to admit that I never put fish sauce in the fridge when opened.....none of us have had a problem yet, so I would use it.....perhaps keep it in tne fridge from now on if it bothers you

  • I took some in date fish sauce out of my cupboard recently, added it to a big pot of stew type stuff and it tasted gross - the fish sauce had definitely gone off. I will always put it in the fridge from now on!

I will in the future too - this tasted great though and my dd loved it - Delia's lime and coconut chicken.
