Right, I am back - the antiques fair wasn't great, as it poured with rain all over the poor outside stall holders, so everyone crammed inside, so that it was impossible to actually get near any of the stalls to look, let alone buy
Still, not much spent, just a few little bits, less than £20. Lunch wasn't great either, just a pasty and a rubbish coffee. I haven't had a pasty for about 5 years, and now I realise why :rotfl: OH was quite enthusiastic about it though, so it was probably not a bad one, just not for me. At least it didn't cost much I suppose
Foxgloves, I love old things too, but rather than get us into debt it has got / kept us out of it. Almost all our furniture is antique or vintage, and except for a couple of things, cost loads less than new stuff would have done, unless you go for the cheapest argos/ ikea I suppose (though some pieces were that cheap, or less). So we have never had sofas on HP or anything like that. I don't really collect things as such - though you wouldn't think so if you saw my houseOften I will hang onto something for a while and then sell it when I find something I like more. Some things are here for good, but apart from the furniture, not much TBH. OH is a bit of a collector, hoarder and spender though, and would go a bit mad if I let him
I like linens too, and glassware, china, kitchenalia, nice garden things, most things really (some vases excepted, and I sold another real horror yesterday :rotfl:). My business doesn't make much money but as long as it pays for itself, it doesn't really matter. We are fortunate to be mortgage and debt free now, and manage as long as we are sensible. It enables me to buy the things that I like, but because I sell most of them on for a small profit at some point, it doesn't actually cost me anything
Fat Von D, sorry to hear that you have had such a rubbish week off0 -
fatvond - with all go through crap spells but it soon turns around again. Enjoy your crap TV and relax :-D
Allydowd - missed you on the thread this week, glad your back
Foxgloves - I'm currently using up my makeup too. Mainly because I have so much! I've picked one eyeshadow, one lipstick etc and put it on top of dressing table so don't have to routine for them. Wear makeup everyday, so the idea is just use them for daily fountain until used up and then pick another. Just brought a new eye linear though which is rubbish, keep ending up with black eyes :-( so looks like I'll have to replace that which I'm not happy about

FatVD- awwww you poor thing so sorry to hear about your wallet. Even though it's ok it still must have caused an enormous spike in stress which you just didn't need on top of all the worry about your mum this week. And your week off sounds pants quite frankly so I'm not surprised you feel fed up. Early bath and bed tonight?
Ally - sorry to hear about your OH. Is this connected to the ongoing health situation or just a bug?
Foxgloves - that is impressive sheet use! And you are right most things just aren't built to last anymore. Interesting your findings on gas usage being higher despite care from you. That's how I feel this month. I was so surprised by our last bill.
Dawn - sounds like a good day then. I love a good pasty me. But trying to find good ones can be hard. The west Cornwall pasty company chain does quite well but spendy.
Well we had a lovely day. First took son's bike down to TRU to query the fact we only bought it for Xmas and bits are already breaking and wearing out. They wouldn't refund us but have agreed to replace both brakes, pedals & tightened the pedal crank for free. Considering it only cost £70 it's already cost half the same again due to one broken brake already and one tyre wearing out, bursting and needing a replacement tyre and inner tube. As we need the bike now for our daily school runs we think we'll take the improvements they make now but aim to replace the bike with a better version from an independent bike shop ASAP. Although it's money to spend we are saving £££s per month by riding not using public transport so we see that as a long game improvement.
After that we went to our local National Trust place for a lovely but cold 2 hour play in the woods. We took a picnic with mainly items from home but stopped at Lidl on route for crisps and sausage rolls. I had a free NT loyalty card hot drink to have so we got a hot chocolate and all shared it. I can't tell you what a treat the outing was after barely seeing Mr Bob all week.
Then I made a really good lasagne for dinner at home and Mr B cut our son's hair. At the risk of a public vomit fest I cannot say how much I value Mr B this week.
I am glad the coming week includes payday & a chance to reset after what has been a challenging month financially in the end.

P.S Maria - are you watching Country file? Full programme on milk prices and the struggle of dairy farmers. For once Mr T actually sounds like it does pay in the better bracket.
I will make a decision now not to buy my milk from Aldi or Lidl as they don't pay the farmer fairly." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Bob - if the bike doesn't hold out you should be repeating the words not fit for purpose to them which I believe are the magic words to get you a refund whatever other terms and conditions they have. If it doesn't do the job it was intended to do then they have no choice but to refund the money.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

We don't really know. But I think it's just Flu/Winter Vomiting Bug. Anyway, thanks for your kind wishes. She's perking up now.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
