The headline on the Daily Mail says you get 2 pints of milk, a loaf of Hovis bread and 4 free-range eggs all for FREE with the paper (as shown in the picture above).

So I bought the paper for 90p but to my dismay it has only earned me 75 Mail points (and you need 200 for the free groceries).

Seems misleading to me.

I have commented before about the misleading headlines in papers - which is why this thread is so useful - with people sharing their knowledge and experiences with deals and vouchers etc.

You must always read the small print and T&Cs - not always possible when we are in a rush.
I try to turn to the specific page where a voucher/coupon is to check the date for example (some have to be used THAT day - which is not always possible)... but with the paper balanced on the supermarket trolley, this is often not easy.

Thank you for your email regarding the £3 Waitrose Gift Card promotion. I am sorry for any confusion caused.

I can confirm that in order to redeem this promotional offer, you must spend 200 Mail Points. The reason this promotion is advertised as free is that Mail Points have no monetary value and are given away in addition to purchasing the paper as a means of rewarding loyalty.

We do really appreciate your feedback and will take this in to consideration when making promotions available to our Members in future.

Should you require any further assistance in this or any other matter, please do not hesitate in contacting us again, either by replying to this email, or calling us on: 0808 272 0808 (calls to this number are free from UK landlines, but mobiles may be charged).

Too right. Typical of the Mail. Cons its readers into believing all sorts of nasty untruths, and then cons them into buying the wretched little trash sheet with yet another lie.

The Mail's idea of 'no catch' seems to be very different from any normal definition of those words.

Rather like its definition of the word 'journalism'.
