Pension review phone call - concern

Hi every one

I'm new to the MSE forum and was just wondering if anyone had received a call from a org calling themselves The Pension Group? I had a call last night from someone asking if I would like a free review of a preserved pension I have, in light of the info in the news about high management charges. I declined their offer but they were quite pushy and nosey!

I decided to to ring 1471 on my phone to see if they had left their tel no and found it was a mobile tel! Just think it's a bit dodgy. What do you think?

It's not like I'm at pensionable age yet (I'm 50):)

If anyone cold calls you then yes it's likely to be dodgy and a scam as no proper financial company will ever cold call.

As to free you can bet your bottom dollar it won't be free and would be very likely to be very costly to you.

If you need a proper review find an adviser via https://www.unbiased.co.uk. However don't expect it to be free as people don't work for nothing.

Cold call? No thanks! I think you made the right decision!

If you require advice on your pension, then an IFA of your choice is the way to go......

I checked out their website The Pension Information Group. Looks v professiona too. I just read the Telegraph article - thanks Hengus. Very informative. The call definately fell into the areas the article mentioned. Glad I'm a member of MSE now. It's great!
