Mortgage or buy outright?

Hi,
I am looking to buy a house.
I have saved enough to buy it outright without having to have a mortgage. However is it better to do this or to protect my capital and borrow the money with a mortgage instead? When I say better, long term, will I save more money by having a mortgage and keeping my savings in my ISA account then just spending the lot?
Any thoughts?
