The card with a photo says '16-25 Photocard'.
    The railcard says '16-25 Railcard'.

If you are looking for a sympathetic hearing and a refund from CS, my advice is to apologise to them for your honest mistake and not to attempt to blame them for the situation.

When he returned without a wallet, why on earth didn't you remind him why you were still there?

That was another mistake, wasn't it?

I have a disability that affects my short term memory, I have terrible short term memory. I was relying on him to do his job efficiently I was suppose that was another mistake I made too?

At the end of the day people can defend the train companies till the cows come home but they have no professional integrity left whatsoever. Look in the news at the profiteering, they have been screwing their customers over for to long now. Enough is enough.

They've pocketed millions. Only paid out a tiny fraction a of what they were given to customers.

It's an expensive nightmare taking a rail journey in modern day Britain.

Well yes, for whatever reason, that was another mistake you made.

You seem to be wandering from the point a bit now.

You have been given good advice... good luck with whatever you decide to do with it.

That reason being a serious disability that impairs my cognitive function....

At least you made it obvious your just trolling.
No they can't. The stations and the online are totally different. They have no links or communication. You either do it online or at the station and never the twain shall meet. The stations don't do the 3 year card either.
That's terrible, then again if they did have to communicate I couldn't even imagine the screw ups that would occur as a result so maybe it's for the best.
    apologise to them
No. I will explain the situation as factually and unemotively as I can. Then I will briefly explain my disability.

Then when they get back to me and say tough or partial refund only I will pass it to my MP and mention my disgust and utter disdain for the compensation fiasco, the lack of accountability and the immoral way the rail companies have behaved and hope you can get my money back.

Apologizing is going to achieve nothing except given them an easy out. If i apologize I'll just get a sorry thems the rules. Computer says no.

Ok, but did you make a mistake or not?

Yes, you certainly did make a mistake by not reminding the guy about the wallet, maybe a mistake you couldn't avoid making, but a mistake nevertheless.

I'll not get too upset by your troll comment... just assume it is due to your serious disability.

Your being pedantic and everything you've written has been one long trolling attempt. You even mocking my disability now. It's blatant trolling. *shrugs*

You are WRONG it is confusing to someone who has never bought one before, especially with my disability.

You should be able to trust the staff to do their jobs. He didn't. Where is my plastic wallet?

The card is referred to as 'a card' plural except in the tiny print at the back of the form which is NOT part of the receipt. The reciept section on the form clearly has a dotted line with a scissors symbol indicating to cut it away from the rest of the form which contains the t+ cs. So actually no the receipt dones NOT have the t+cs on it at all.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you work for them? :(

I am dyslexic. I know all about short term memory problems. But I try to take measures to limit my own problems, however I do make mistakes but I blame myself not others.
The "receipt" is two pages long with all the terms and conditions on, that is why you are given it all the clerk keeps is details of your name and address and card. You obviously did not read them.

Your attitude to Wealdroam's posts speak volumes. He is not trolling he is telling you something you don't like so you try to demean him and cry victim. Just like the railcard.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

Maybe it wasn't obvious from his first post but the recent ones making light of my disability and essentially mocking it is blatant trolling. His been belligerent throughout the whole thread.

I missed helpful advice like JezR's first post because I rose to his bait when i should have ignored him. Also he never answered a single question in my opening post, another sign of a troll.

Also dyslexia is horrible but my disability goes well beyond that, I'm in constant chronic physical pain and fatigue which causes mental exhaustion, anxiety, depression, brain fog.

I joined an access course recently so I can go to uni next year and pursue my passions despite being in extraordinary discomfort I'm getting top grades and top attendance.

What was the Government's response? They got my ESA, i now have 400 pound bursary from the college to live off which is actually suppose to cover travel and course costs. I can't afford to lose money.
    The railcard says '16-25 Railcard'.
Which would also be written on a receipt surely? It's a tatty piece of cardboard.

No other big company issues a printed piece of cardboard and calls it a 'card'. They are all plastic.

There is no excuse for issuing two pieces, it's just to profit from confusion much like their compensation system and their ticket types- each with their own obscure rules about when you can and can't travel.

    The whole systems a mess.

Wealdroam is a highly respected poster who helps numerous folks usually in a factual and non emotive manner. I guess even he/she gets fed up with others always trying to pass the blame, make it someone elses fault. No one on this thread is responsible for your problem except you.

You have a history of accusing posters of working for the railways if they disagree with you.
Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed. ;)

    Wrong and wrong.

Yet he is still trolling and being pedantic about what the meaning of a card is, try having a look in your wallet instead of a dictionary. ;)

A person can be a helpful poster and still troll a thread should it take there fancy, the two things are not mutually exclusive.

A history is something established, the last time I posted in this part of the forum was about london zones and I looked over the thread and I have not accused anyone of working for the railways. Maybe i missed something or maybe you are thinking of someone else? If i've started a thread here before that you would have to go very far back to find it I think.

Feels like character assassination to me saying i'm a persistent accuser while the sun shines out of your friends bum.

Also if someone appears knowledgeable on a topic and acts with some degree of belligerence to a negative thread it is only logical to conclude they may have worked at some point in the industry.

Anyway I have a uni interview to prepare for and a customer service form to send out [by recorded delivery, using their free post might as well say 'dump this in the 'lost' draw'. :rotfl:]

As always for those who took the time out to post I appreciate it. I'll come back and update as I always do if I ever get a reply on that refund. Thanks.
