Oh, didn't realise that. Why is there such a large difference in pricing? From 81.9p to 87.9p down the road for a litre of unleaded? Is there such a big difference in quality?0

I bought a new diesel last October and it's only had supermarket diesel in untill 3 weeks ago. After reading a post on here I changed to Shell diesel and got a double benefit. Cheapest diesel within 30 mile radius and just over 4mpg increase. And the increase at the moment is with mainly local driving.0 -
why are we 'happy' petrol is only 80p/litre, its truly disgusting british taxpayers are having their wallets emptied.0

Did you see 5th Gear on Channel 5 the other week. They did a comparison of petrol V's diesel.
They used the example of ford mondeo's. And to break even you would need to do 100,000 miles in the diesel.
