not my debt

So I recently started cleaning up my credit. I have this account on there that is not mine it's from 2010. So I disputed the dedt online telling them it's not mine. I have no proof that it's not mine so I didn't send them any documents. They did not remove it they only updated it to say it closed in 2015. How can I get this off my credit with no proof?

Sorry, but a few questions needed in order to work out the best line of attack.

Is it under the name of a debt collector or what is presumably the original creditor?

What sort of account is it? Card, loan, mobile, utility, something else?

I presume you disputed with the Credit Reference Agency? If so which one? They should have given you an actual response within 28 days saying what they did, if anything, and why.
