Occupiers Consent Form

Hi

I am applying for a mortgage in my name only. My partner will be living with me but his name will not be on the mortgage.

I understand that he will have to sign an occupiers content form. I understand what this is for, however I was wondering whether this will lead the mortgage lender to check his credit score and could this subsequently affect the mortgage application.

Depends on the lender - certainly can with some, but not most.


Are you financially linked with him - will affect with more if so.

We are not financially linked in anyway... we have both our names on the council tax... but that's it. No joint bank accounts, no joint utility bills.

Similarly, they require any other adult living at the property, who is not a party to the mortgage, to sign a document that says they will also vacate the property in the event of a repossession.
