i think my manager is being a bit unreasonable

He is definitely nitpicking. He obviously has issues and is taking them out on you. He's probably jealous of you or has some insecurities.
It sounds like you are handling it well. Just continue the way you are and if you can get a transfer to a different supervisor at some point, do this. How pathetic he sounds.
I would agree that it probably isn't a good idea to raise it to formal complaint level, unless he gets more abusive. Unfortunately complaints sometimes go against the most junior person, sadly. Carry on doing a good job and try and stay out of his way - if you feel his record of your performance could be dishonest though, I would then join a union and involve them. It sounds like he's a moody s%d and it may be no more than this, but he shouldn't be picking on anyone, let alone the new apprentice.0 -
Well on Friday I put through a request to transfer to a branch 5 miles away from the branch im at now that has advertised for a apprentice, I've used the excuse that they are a much larger branch in a nicer area with a better mix of vehicles coming in (we mainly get the local hire companies bringing in corsa`s, insignias and the like for servicing).
Yesterday in front of two of my work mates, I got asked by my current manager what the h**l I was doing requesting a transfer to another branch after a short amount of time, making him look bad. So I was honest and just explained that I thought how I was being treated by him was unfair and that id rather not work under his management.
I have got to go for a "chat" with the manager of the branch I have requested to move to, tomorrow morning and have had time off booked by the powers above for this. Which my current manager doesn't like lol.
Today I had it a little easier as he decided he didn't like the young lad that came in for work placement, who in 6 weeks time could well be my replacement. But work placement lad was told to stick by my side and just learn from me while I did basic checks and servicing all day.
Hopefully I can get out of that branch and into the much better branch quickly. No man is your friend, No man is your enemy. Every man is your teacher.

Look he sounds like a proper little hitler, but what people like this really get off on his having smoke blown up their !!!!. Go and sit down with him, tell him how much you respect him and how he manages the business. Apologise for the things he's mentioned and reiterate what you have done to address them including changing your exhaust and the ask him if he is happy with your 'modifications' If he still moans then tell him to **** off and you can come and work for me as I struggle getting people with the right attitude which it sound like you have. Trust me as an employer, we would crawl over broken glass to get the right employees.0

Right update.
Got my transfer and im now at a much busier branch, Old manager found out the day it was confirmed I was being transferred and sat me down for a "chat" where he had a bit of a shout and then I calmly told him exactly what I thought of him. He then sent me home and told me not to go back to "his branch" even though I had two days left, he got into a bit of bother with the powers above for that.
Much better at the new branch, never have time to sit down etc always a job to do which I like, new manager is a biker too and is ok with my sports can being on and is ok with tattoo being on show.
Glad its sorted. No man is your friend, No man is your enemy. Every man is your teacher.

That's an excellent result. Sounds like the manager isn't really suited for managing.0

Well done.
Personally, I think your old manager was threatened by you because you sound proactive, good, patient and diligent, and he probably didn't like that. He didn't have anything to really get cross about with you, so he found non-issue things to be cross about instead. Sounds like he's on a power trip!' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
Any chance of using punctuation, or a sentence in English?
I think op has a beaten husband as a manager.
I'm not English. How about not jumping onto comments that aren't directed at you? Or perhaps grow up.
redvision95, good it is sorted for you and hope you will be better off at the new place

Nice one.
once settled it might be worth a chat about the old place sounds like there might be an opportunity for a budding manager and your new manager might be keen to help out one of his better people.
Might be if the business is mainly trade at the old place the manager there has an incentive to maintain that situation.0 -
Is it possible to stop a mile before the site and push the bike in from there?
If the manager doesn't like you then you are already on borrowed time.0
