I have a system with Canadian Solar panels and a SMA inverter - it will have been installed 2 years in April. We've had no problems with it and it has performed slightly better than expected. We are very pleased with it.

I think it depends on personal preference - some like the SolarWorld panels because of their German origin but the Canadian Solar now also come with a 25yr performance warranty so I went with the system that offered us the best return on investment.

We chose Solarworld over Canadian purely due to the fact that Solarworlds are German made . Worth the extra £ imho
  • I had exactly the same decision to make when I got quoted.

I ended up getting the Solarworld panels as they're German made and came with a free insurance (doesn't give much more than house insurance) but to qualify for that insurance it had to be installed with the Sunfix mounting system (at no extra cost to me) which seemed more sturdy than the other mounting system that was to be used... that might just be my perception though, as German stuff tends to be overengineered...

After 6 months my system is far outperforming PVGIS, but we'll see if that's really the case over the years and I haven't just had a great few months...
